The exact replica skeleton of the Velafrons Coahuilensis, by artist Marianela Fuentes, Arturo Gonzalez and Sarahi Carrillo, a dinosaur from the Cretaceous period, 72 million years ago. The dinosaur was decorated in the art of the Huichol, an indigenous tribe of Mexico who now lives in the same lands that once were populated by the Velafrons.
Peter Hazel and his team brought back the 40 foot tall jellyfish, first on playa in 2017. From a distance, this piece looked like a single large creature, but upon arriving I realized it is comprised of thousands of smaller jellyfish, swimming in a sea of tentacles and lights.
Open Hearted Meditator, OHM, was an impactful art piece. It was a 13′ tall, gender neutral, figure sitting in lotus with a literally ‘open heart’. OHM represents the sacred space of the heart. This 2018 art installation was created by Swig Miller
